To Saint Petersburg on a budget

Q:I want to go to Saint Petersburg but I've been told that it is extremely expensive city and week costs may be over 2000 Euro. It is too much for me. Do I have a chance to make a budget trip to St Petersburg?

A:Of course you have a chance to make a budget tour to Saint Petersburg! For that you should only know some tips. For example, visiting good  a-la cart restaurants is rather expensive, so be ready to eat in fast food restaurants like mcdonalds and russian-style blins cafes. There are also cafes Brinza and self catering restaurant Frikadel'ka – both with very attractive prices and tasty food. Supermarkets will provide you with alcohol and other food. Accommodation is really over prised in Saint Petersburg, but there are number of great and clean hostels in the center of the city – it is great way to save the money. You also can save money on tickets to museums and other city sights. For example you can skip visiting palaces in Peterhof and Pushkin. There are also a lot of free of charge cultural events during all the year – you just have to google it properly.
