To Saint Petersburg by plane – how to make the budget trip

Q:I want to go to Saint Petersburg and now I'm looking for the flight from London for reasonable price. But there are only extremely expensive tickets! Does anybody know budget way to get to Saint Petersburg.

A:Direct flights to Saint Petersburg, Russia are really very expensive. Good way to get to the city and save a bit money is to get to Helsinki by plane and than take a taxi to Saint Petersburg. There is about 400 kilometers between the cities, so it takes several hours to get from one to another – and to pass the border! Also you can get from Helsinki to Saint Petersburg by train – there is a new one called Allegro. It is very  fast and comfortable. Many Russians prefer to use Helsinki airport Vantaa for traveling because of high air ticket prices to flights from St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport.
